ABSTRACT
One of the most significant problems associated with any geotechnical modelling technique can be the variable nature of the input parameters, and the extent to which this variability can affect the final analysis. With most geotechnical problems strength parameters for the rock mass are particularly difficult to determine with any degree of confidence. In addition, factors such as support configuration, hydrological conditions and blasting vibration provide further variability.
