ABSTRACT
In 1995, SCCL purchased 2 sets of fully mechanized longwall mining equipment from CME for operation in 2# and 3# working faces. Under the supervision of Chinese experts, 369197 tons of coal were produced during 104 working days with maximum daily production output of 5290 tons. In the period of production, CME and PVK jointly did observation research on strata movement and ground pressure by utilizing Chinese strata control meters and theory. The research not only supervised the production, but also provided the basis for option of powered support in future. Conditions of the working face, research method and outcome are stated in this report.
