ABSTRACT
The requirement of adequate geological investigations, sound planning, good contract practices and adoption of modern technology have been emphasized for achieving speedy completion of underground works in Hydro-electric projects. The importance of holding pre-bid meetings and incorporating the suggestions of prospective contractors and making specific provisions in the bid documents for adoption of modern technology etc. are some of the suggestions for speedy execution of underground projects.
