ABSTRACT

At the site of Jaslovské Bohunice, in the west part of the Slovak Republic, are located three nuclear power plants (NPP). The first NPP, after an accident ceased production in 1977. The radionuclides penetrated the surrounding groundwater. Additionally an extensive system for monitoring and protection was constructed. This enables one to observe groundwater flow and its pollution. Tracer methods applied to this monitoring system included: one-borehole methods, more-borehole experiments, and analysis of the radioactive substances in the groundwater. In this paper attention is given not only to methodical problems, but also to problems involving the evaluation, interpretation and use of the measurement results.
