ABSTRACT
This paper presents finite element analyses of an excavation executed on a soft peat/organic clay deposit (Sandroni et al., 1984). In-situ field measurements of pore-pressures, vertical and horizontal displacements are compared with results obtained by the numerical analyses. Linear elastic, non-linear elastic and elasto-plastic constitutive models are used in the analyses.
