ABSTRACT
The paper briefly presents the national system of engineering education and education of GE in it, at undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Vietnam. It also presents some ideas on the definition of GE and others relating the improvement of this discipline and wishing that the conference should approach an internationally unified view to make the base for setting up in detail a set of model curricula for GE education at undergraduate and postgraduate level, that could be used in Civil Engineering at different countries. Finally, based on the reality nowadays, the paper insists on the necessary of International Cooperation and Support each other to improve the content of education in GE and uniformly raise the perception level on it for Geotechnical Teachers working at different countries, especially at Developing Countries. Some contents in this paper is written according to professor Manoliu’s recommendations sent to the Vietnam Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
