ABSTRACT
The research concerning foundation and behavior design in Khon Kaen University, Thailand were the responsible jobs of two graduate students. According to lots of field and laboratory tests which were assigned to accomplish the objectives, thirty-eight undergraduate students were recruited and assigned to run the ten small research projects which were the sub-topics of the two main research projects. All students had to play the role of engineers, technicians, managers, administrators, accountants and even laborers. In other words, they worked as all positions in an engineering consultant company. The students were pushed to face and solve many academic, management and social problems themselves. The supervisor only provided the budget and gave some suggestions as necessary. The students could reach the conceptual stage of engineering work involving the use of complex cognitive skills and processes. They got the understanding achievement of critical thinking and creativity which usually could be got in the actual work after they graduated from their university. This collaborative researches provided good results which could be concluded in many ways and were accepted to be present in both local and international conferences.
