ABSTRACT

On the suppositions that all conditions are the same except that a revetment is constructed and is not constructed in the side of the embankment exposed to the sun, the future thermal regime of a roadbed, which is in Erdao River along Qinghai-Tibet Highway, is simulated using the Galerkin’s finite element method. The results show that the construction of revetment in the side of the embankment exposed to the sun exerts a considerable effect on the heat stability of the roadbed in cold regions.
