ABSTRACT
The paper provides a general overview of the restructuring process, technology and production data of the coal mining industry in Poland. It deals with the following issues: resources, restructuring process and organisation of coal mining industry, production data and mine closures. Unique thick coal seam mining technology developed in Poland is described in more detail.
