ABSTRACT
Initiation and early stage of sand wave development are intimately related to the essential characteristics of bed load motion. In this paper, stochastic model for bed load transport process based on an Eulerian interpretation and sand bed instability analysis of Fourier transformed version are coupled to explain the spectral evolution of sand waves in early stage of sand wave development. Theoretical treatments are also followed by some experimental investigations.
