ABSTRACT
The effect of the particle diameter upon the turbulent diffusion of solid particles in an open channel flow was examined. The results show the importance of the solid particle inertia effects and lift forces acting on a particle. The mean particle downward velocities are smaller than the settling velocities in still water.
