ABSTRACT

The transport of heavy particles by the wind is generally governed by three kinds of motion : suspension, saltation and creeping motion. The present theoretical work is a natural development of those of Bagnold, Kawamura and Owen and generalise their results. The equations of motion are solved in the case of horizontal or inclined sand surface ; in that last case the wind is supposed to be flowing (up or down) in a direction parallel to the line of the greatest slope.
