ABSTRACT

The lower Middle Cambrian Oelandicus shales at Norrtorp, south central Sweden have yielded a widely diversified fauna. The echinoderms are represented by Cigara Barrande, edrioasteroids and stylophoran carpoids. Five specimens of Cigara show a long, slender, plated stele. The proximal part of the stele forms a hollow cone of thin, fairly large convex plates gradually passing into the tapering base of the calyx. The distal part is composed of two series of alternating ossicles. The edrioasteroids represent a new species of Stromatocystites. The carpoids may be a new species of Ceratocystis.
