ABSTRACT
Cabbage root fly populations in oilseed rape crops grown on light, friable soils now warrant close monitoring as some populations are reaching levels threatening the rape itself. Such high populations could, if allowed to establish, be disastrous for more susceptible vegetable crops such as cauliflowers which under enhanced insect pressure may no longer be protected adequately by available control measures.
