ABSTRACT
The application of insecticides appropriate for cabbage root fly control in brassicas was investigated in cabbage grown in small peat modules. Incorporation of chemicals in the compost was found to lead to an unacceptable level of phytotoxicity. Drench application did not cause phytotoxic effects but the level of field control of the pest was less than with conventional application methods.
