Problems in monitoring cabbage root fly, Delia radicum (brassicae) by oviposition traps

In 1984 and 1985, the use of Freuler’s Swiss egg trap for recording oviposition of the cabbage root fly was compared in a preference and a non-preference situation. It is concluded that a non-preference situation gives a more reliable indication of early oviposition of D. radicum.
