ABSTRACT

In 1986 the influence of the insecticides phosalone and fenvalerate and the fungicides fenpropimorph, prochloraz and propiconazole has been investigated on the soil predators (Carabidae, Staphylinidae and Araneae) in winter wheat. Our field experiments were carried out in 3 replicates on square barriered plots of 25 m2. All the pesticides were applied at the end of May. The predator fauna was examined by means of pitfall traps.

From these field experiments it can be concluded that the insecticides phosalone and fenvalerate have little toxic effect on some polyphagous predators, whereas the fungicides fenpropimorph, prochloraz and propiconazole had no influence on the epigeal arthropod fauna.
