ABSTRACT

The technical diagnostics can be considered as a most effective method of rationalization of machinery and equipment operation. This is used for determining the technical condition of machinery and equipment based on the processes which accompany operation of a machine or equipment. An example of such a process accompanying the machine or equipment operation is mechanical vibration. When determining the technical condition of a machine based on an accompanying phenomena of the machine operation, the parameters of this phenomena are measured. The determination of the condition of the machine is performed when the equipment is in operation. The diagnostic methods determine the technical condition of the whole machine or one or more elements, e.g. rolling bearings of the machine, which without the diagnostics method would not be possible without dismantling the machine. Besides the idle time, additional costs for dismantling the machine is involved to say nothing of that such an interference in the machine or equipment operation. Such interference may decrease the operational and technical condition of the machine. With the use of diagnostic methods, the machine or equipment may be subjected to repair depending on the precisely determined technical condition. Unfortunately, in lignite surface mining, a strategy of machinery and equipment operation based on the technical diagnostics method is not widely used. The paper describes the applicability of the diagnostic method for applying to surface mining machinery.
