ABSTRACT

In saturated day soil, there are large pores and micro-pores, and the total micro-pore space is always greater than the total large pore space. The large pores are mainly filled with gravitational water and capillary water, but The micro-pores are filled with bound water. Through studying the groundwater movement in saturated clay aquitard which is distributed between two aquifers in Daqing area (in P.R.C,) we have found that the water movement in saturated clay soil has different stages, and the movement rules depend upon both the transformation and the reaction of different forms of water during the filtration.
