ABSTRACT

The case study presented in Chapter 8 is not one of the major and bloody events in the long and tortured history between Palestinians and Israelis. However, it constitutes a point of departure to assess the cultural dimensions in a possible process of restorative justice between the two contending narratives. The assessment of historical events is always endangered to be flawed and one-sided. In the Israeli— Palestinian context this might be avoided by taking into consideration the very important works of Israeli revisionist historians such as Tom Seguev, Ilan Pappe, Benny Morris and Idith Zertal.
