The global wheat trade and the industrialization of Monsoon Asia, 1951–2001

In recent years, the economic growth of the Monsoon Asian countries has been remarkable. The purpose of this paper is to examine the economic growth of these Monsoon Asian countries from the viewpoint of food supply. It is well-known that an increase in food supply leads to a shift in the labor force from the agricultural to the industrial sector.
