ABSTRACT
Mitigation refers to human actions that prevent greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere or to actions that remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. The primary objective of mitigation activities is to limit the increase in atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations and, thereby, to reduce the extent of human-induced climate change the world will experience over the coming century and beyond.
