ABSTRACT

This model presupposes two rigid dichotomies: that between the ‘subject’ (the knower) and the ‘object’ (the known); and that between ‘fact’ and ‘value’. In other words, the ‘real’ world is separate and distinct from the theoretical conVWUXFWLRQVWKHPHDQLQJVGH¿QLWLRQVDQGPRUDOHYDOXDWLRQVZLWKLQWKHPLQGRI WKHREVHUYHU&RQVFLRXVQHVVPRUHRYHU LVVHHQDVDVRUWRIPLUURU UHÀHFWLQJ± more or less accurately – an external actuality.
