ABSTRACT
Nowadays men’s suits, especially in the evening, are so rigidly controlled by convention as to be practically a uniform, and the slightest departure in the direction of the ornate is frowned upon. In former days, men behaved as most women still do; they spent as much on their clothes as they could afford, and they were able to display individual taste in the choice of picturesque magnificence.
