ABSTRACT
The principal question considered in this chapter concerns the compatibility between Maurice Mandelbaum’s “radical critical realism” and canonical conceptions of phenomenology, in particular Merleau-Ponty’s account of perceptual experience and his attending critique of “objective thought” in Phenomenology of Perception.1
