Fundamental movement skill development of four to six year-old pre- school children in Flanders

Early childhood is a sensitive period for the development and refinement of fundamental movement skills [FMS] in children, including object control, locomotion and stability movement skills (Gallahue and Ozmun, 2006). This development is an interactional process affected by constraints within the task, the child and the environment (Haywood and Getchell, 2005).
