ABSTRACT
Other chapters in this volume discuss the issues involved in managing sex offenders from academic, policy making and pragmatic perspectives. This chapter concentrates upon the pragmatic consequences of legislative change and media pressures to the police service as one of the ‘responsible authorities’ for the management of sex offenders.
