ABSTRACT

The old adage ‘Never ask anyone to do anything that you’re not prepared to do yourself’ has always figured highly in my ethos of life. During the latter stages of writing this book, I realised that despite auditioning thousands of actors, I had not faced an audition myself for nearly twenty years. While writing from memory is fine, I felt I should have the experience fresh in my mind, so set about following my own instructions in the hope of procuring myself an audition – and possibly a temporary career change if an offer came my way.
