ABSTRACT

Technology, Design and Process Innovation in the Built Environment provides numerous examples of innovative developments that have emerged from the CRC for Construction Innovation. These potentially can make significant inroads into increasing productivity by those delivering built environment infrastructure and maintaining built assets. This potential productivity extends to sustainability so that productivity is realized for long-term benefits rather than merely generating transient short-term advantages. However, the word potential is stressed here because no benefit (transitory or long-term) will be delivered unless this potential is realized. Good ideas, like well-crafted strategies, are illusionary unless there is the means to translate thought into effective action.
