ABSTRACT
The successful practice of a governmental information network in Jiangxi has aroused the concerns of relevant authorities in the state and other provinces or cities. The leaders of the National Development and Reform Commission, Information Office of the State Council, Confidential Affairs Bureau of the General Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Secretary Bureau of the State Council, National Administration for the Protection of State Secrets and other departments, as well as the leaders of more than twenty provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have at some point organized investigation tours in Jiangxi Province. They have fully affirmed the success of the practice in Jiangxi, and the experts also speak highly of e-government in the province. The experts point out that, as a result of many years’ efforts, Jiangxi has established the first e-government network in China fully in accordance with the Guiding Opinions of State Informatization Leading Group Regarding E-government Construction in China and carved out a successful path of e-government construction in economically less developed areas, which features the advantages of excellent programmes, complete functions, satisfying effects, but less investment, really the first model of its kind in China.
