ABSTRACT
Despite the enhanced and expanded liaison facilities available through Interpol, and the creation of new regional co-ordination mechanisms such as Europol, the growth of bilateral liaison postings has continued. Variously known as Drug Liaison Officers (DLOs), Crime Liaison Officers (CLOs), Legal Attachés or Law Enforcement Liaison Officers they have become a vital element of international co-operation at both the regional and global levels.
