ABSTRACT

The measurement of heart rate variability (HRV) is a useful tool to quantify the activity of the autonomic nervous system on cardiovascular function in adults as well as in children (Task Force, 1996; Mandigout et al., 2002). Low heart rate variability is considered as a general risk marker of several diseases in children (Massin and von Bernuth, 1998; Gutin et al., 2000; Javorka et al., 2005).
