ABSTRACT
The aim of this concluding chapter is to examine some medium-to long-term policy issues and external factors likely to affect future development of public transport in Britain, and to some extent in similar countries, identifying some themes that cut across earlier chapters. It is not the intention to examine shortrun policy matters, or very recent government policy changes, which are covered extensively in other publications.
