ABSTRACT
Switzerland has never made an official commitment to the UN recommendation of setting 0.7% of GNP aside for ODA. Instead, the Swiss government set itself a more modest target at the beginning of the nineties: for Swiss ODA to reach 0.4% of GNP by the year 2000.
