ABSTRACT

My intention in this chapter is to attempt to connect psychotherapeutic theory and practice with a critical theory of social structure. I will also explore the ways in which such a connection might illuminate the possibilities of psychotherapy as an agent of social change. I will not recapitulate the specifics of body psychotherapy, except where I consider it to have a unique contribution, as I expect the interested reader will by this stage of the book have a thorough grounding in such details.
