ABSTRACT

The China-Europe relationship has traversed a long and complicated history. When the then European Community of nine members formally established diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China in 1975, the relationship was a minor shadow of what it has become today (see Appendix I: Chronology of Relations). Over three decades the relationship has grown to be both extensive and intensive. Consider some examples.
