ABSTRACT
The planning permission for Stroud College in Gloucestershire (SCG) (Figure 17.1) was granted on 14 June 20051 and included the building of a twenty-firstcentury facility to replace the outdated 1970s buildings which presently occupied a large site. Learning and Skills Council granted a 47 per cent grant for the £18m building and land was sold off to a housing developer to build 149 dwellings to pay for the shortfall.
