ABSTRACT

The IMPACT project is an initiative whereby homework is utilised as a vehicle for parental participation in children’s learning. Through the use of teacher-selected take-home activities, parents and children share a maths or a writing task together in the context of the home. These tasks, while school-focused to the extent that they are designed to feed into the classroom curriculum, nevertheless draw upon the resources of the home for their completion.
