ABSTRACT
A child born in any part of the world today is heir to a variety of complex political, legal, economic, educational, and technological systems embedded in cross-cultural contexts. The expertise, beliefs, and behaviors needed to effectively lead and manage today’s institutions within these complex systems can be learned. However, successful leadership and management in these new contexts require an “extra capacity” – cross-cultural adaptability.
