ABSTRACT

This book is “not the beginning,” but only a consolidating pause in our individual journeys toward understanding and teaching about cultural crossings. It is driven by our intellectual curiosity, our academic interests and the accident of our birthright. As a Turkish-American in California, Paris, and Istanbul, a New Yorker in the U.S. Midwest, or a JamaicanCalifornian – we naturally grew into this field from our personal experiences and challenges. Muslim, Jew, Christian – our own cross-cultural lives focused our attention and shaped our interests. Later as industrial relations specialist, strategist, organization theorist – we contextualized our disciplines within our own multicultural worlds.
