ABSTRACT
In September 1996 we began our home study assessment to adopt a child from China. We had an immediate rapport with our caseworker, and were delighted to accept her challenge to provide written responses to some of the sections in her report. I took up a second challenge of working as an unpaid classroom assistant in a local school to show willing toward gaining handson experience with very young children.
