ABSTRACT
In the minority view about property and income that I shall be generally defending here, most contemporary governments are pursuing the wrong policies, and we are all very much the worse off as a result. Those policies are very much influenced by the philosophy of equality and its entailed collective overseeing of our economic lives that is by far the majority view among contemporary philosophers, and notably by James P.Sterba. If, as I think, they are indeed wrong, it’s obviously pretty important.1
