ABSTRACT

This brief sur vey of issues relat ing to the uses of Infor mation Communication Technologies (ICTs) in higher education focuses on the teaching of media studies at an introductory undergraduate level. In general, incorporating ICTs in higher education may take any or all of the following forms: using ICTs to deliver courses; delivering practical courses in the use of ICTs; and analysing ICTs as an object of study. However before examining any of these forms, it is useful to be aware of the shifting context in which such work might take place.
