ABSTRACT

The primary purpose of this book is to argue for and describe ways in which ICTs may be creating new possibilities for artistic and creative work both within the formal curriculum and in complementary educational sites. This collection is not concerned with the ways that technology may be used transparently, as a medium to deliver traditional skills and knowledge, but how it can be used as a new media form in itself. The book sets out to describe the opportunities digital technologies offer for communicating, disseminating and making culture as well as acting as a vehicle for personal and collective self-expression.
