ABSTRACT
While the green economy is a relatively recent concept, it is closely linked with sustainable development, which has been the focus of international policy initiatives for more than 40 years. In this chapter, we will therefore examine how the green economy can be achieved in practice, based on the lessons learned from attempts to support sustainable development. The chapter is structured around some different elements of the green economy.
