ABSTRACT
When you think of political action by women, what sort of images come to mind? Perhaps you imagine suffragettes marching for the vote, women making impassioned speeches at a podium, or women gathered in front of institutions like courts or government to protest how issues such as male violence against females are handled. If, like many feminists today, you are sensitive to differences amongst women, then you probably imagine that these women are a diverse group: some young, some old, some who have brought along young children, some white, some black, some Asian and maybe some women whose dress or manner signal a sexuality that is non-heterosexual. Chances are, however, that none of these women have a physical or mental disability.
