ABSTRACT
Measuring and comparing things has become increasingly important in recent years. We have league tables and key performance indicators for all aspects of society and the economy. But often it appears that we are not necessarily getting better at measuring and comparing, nor do these exercises necessarily lead to improved outcomes.
