ABSTRACT
In this chapter you will find a strong argument for good nursery practice. In other words, by starting from where children are, allowing them to pursue their own interests through play, finding out about the languages, cultures, expectations and values of their homes those working with childrenmonolingual, bilingual and multilingual-will ensure that the curriculum on offer genuinely supports individual development.
