ABSTRACT
In planning this experience for Alice, I chose the particular medium appropriate for her age and development. She mixed and used thick powder paint in four basic colours-the primaries plus green. She used a medium-thickness paint brush on paper on a table top. She painted alone, as I was trying to concentrate on her processes. The experience was planned more as a chance to provide an observation and a starting point, rather than to teach Alice new skills.
