ABSTRACT
So here we are! We hope the journey has been interesting and informative. We have aimed to ply readers with enough information to be competent consumers of research in early childhood education. As we have seen, there is a lot of territory to cover, and we hope that we have not only provided a comprehensive overview but also have piqued interest in finding out more. There may be readers out there who decide to become researchers themselves; we hope we have provided the starting place to think about what kinds of questions might be of interest, what types of methods would help get to those questions, and what types of research are needed in the field. It is a generative venture, and we are glad to have new participants in the quest!
